lick a shot.

a good day.

a good day.

“Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther King could walk, Martin Luther King walked so Barack Obama could run and Barack Obama is running so we can all fly.” – shawn carter.

i’ve had 8 years of pent up anger, and it was so good to see how many people felt the same way. in 2004 i was so depressed that john kerry didn’t win. you become apathetic. even four years later from that election, it was about time people started to realize that our country was headed in the wrong direction. it was just amazing that bush wasn’t impeached for all those crimes that any average joe would be caught for. i know that being a lame duck president, there isn’t much that you can do. but i didn’t think that they were hardly going to do anything. for the readers, when was the last time you saw bush and cheeney? what good did they do in 2008?  i don’t remember anything that they did.

i personally, don’t have a problem with mccain. he is a bit old and i wanted a long term president who could fix these problems that the nation is facing. i salute his duty as an american and what he has gone through in the vietnam war. he gets nothing but my respect, i just didn’t want him to be my president at this time. i had a bit of a problem with palin though. it was a good strategic move on the republican party to get her after obama got bidden for vp, but felt more like the a strategic move to get hillary supporters rather than trying to grab everyone. but i will say that i’m glad she got in so we can see tina fey again.

well today comes around, i’m not gonna front, but i was scared that obama wouldn’t win. i had the thought, maybe palin stole some votes with her cuteness and alaskan songbird charm of hers. i mean, george w. did get re-elected, it could happen. so when i turned on the tube i saw mccain had a 16 – 3 lead. and i was real scared that it was going to happen. but during hour two of the political marathon, obama jumped out ahead, and then it looked good from there on.

it was quite interesting to see the two parties and their gatherings. i really wished that i was in chicago, i would have gone to grant park to witness the event. the crowds were gathering and getting larger and larger at different venues. new york looked like new years eve, washington d.c. was stirring up, chicago was looking like a big ba-rock the bells show. whereas, the mccain groups were very small, indoors, except for the main one in arizona. and im not sure if i saw a large diversity in ethnicity in his parties.

so 8′ o clock came around, and the news reporter says. “its 8 o clock and polls are now closed. and barrack obama is our new president elect.” it was kind of weird in my mind because it hadn’t hit 8:01pm and seemed like they didnt even mind checking into the numbers. im not one who wants to second guess the numbers, but i thought it was surprising how quick they did it. i was so used to waiting on days for recounting and waiting til 12 for someone to concede. and as soon as he won, i clapped. i was very proud of him to win. i believe that he does give us hope, and just him winning and seeing everyones reactions, it made me believe it could happen.

everyone was so happy (except for arizona). in my life, i have never seen so many people so happy on a tuesday ever. it was the 8 years of anger that everyone had. and to see the people happy for once it was a beautiful thing. i felt like i was in “a moment”. it was one of those brief feelings where i was connected with america. it doesn’t happen often, especially through politics, but when obama had his acceptance speech and everyone was listening, i felt connected again. his speech was amazing btw. and when they showed jesse jackson crying, i had to hold that one in. even though he said he wants to cut his balls off, i truly think that those tears were from years and years of oppression and for his friend dr. martin luther king.

well anyways, i know that i think im rambling on a subject that people already know about with all the coverage thats been going on, so im just going to leave it here. i’m very happy about this, and i think it will fix our image internationally. i don’t think it will fix our economy right away, because WE have to fix that ourselves. and it won’t happen in one year either, it will be a long term fix. but yeah i  do feel that a change gone come.

so who wants to fly?

sellout.

August 29, 2008

this is the most awkward thing i have ever seen in any election thus far.

senator john mccain attacked barack obama for having a celebrity status, but i find it funny that he got endorsed by daddy yankee. for those who dont know who he is, he is a reggaeton artist, ok at best. i’ve honestly never liked him and his music, just ask the old school media people, we hate reggaeton.

mccain really looks desperate to get endorsements from anyone famous. this is a real bad look for both parties. mccain had no clue who his special guest was that he read it off a cue card. and its a bad look for daddy yankee, cause when youre from the hood, you can be voting republican. its totally against what the “struggle” is about. from what they were saying is that daddy yankee tried to endorse obama, but we all know what happened with luda. so daddy yankee went to mccain. what a fucking flip flop. and we all know hes doing this cause he probably has an album coming out just to get some free camera time.

mccain is too old, and his team who accepted his endorsement is way out of the loop. to think that daddy yankee is going to help him is dumb. if you go to youtube and all the blogs, people with puerto rican decent are ashamed of what daddy yankee did. its sad. really.
